AMANDA BOLDUC

My name’s Amanda Bolduc, 29 years old as of 2020. I am a self-taught artist, but I have attended college and gotten my Associates in Arts from Cape Cod Community College. I have also attended a handful of independent classes, such as life drawing at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. I like to spend my days watching YouTube art vloggers (and gamers of course) and drawing along with the calming music and ramblings of fellow artists. I dream of a day when I can be as confident in my speaking skills as they are.

My work lives on Instagram under the handle AmandaLeeArtStudio, which I also paid to have as my DBA! So official business, yay! I did that in October of 2018 so that I could attend a wonderful little fair at Coonamesset Farm in Falmouth. I am so thankful they gave me a chance, as that has introduced me to some other wonderful people.

I mostly work with ‘my girls’ at the moment, making lovely illustrations of them. I also paint other animals more in a more realistic style from time to time. ‘My girls’ are the assortment of chicken ladies that I drawand paint, often in lovely clothing or with floral arrangements. I also like to follow monthly prompt lists, like Inktober, and paint along with that.  Makes finding inspiration a lot easier when you’re dealing with hard times. I like to make people happy with my work, and it makes me happy when someone connects with them.

Sweet Pea’s my main gal, being on center stage in most of my illustrations. I also plan on illustrating my own children’s book about her, but I battle with perfectionism on a daily basis, so it’s a ways off at the moment. Painting brings me great joy in a world that lacks it sometimes; popping on a vlog or some chill-hop and filling in a drawing I’ve done is my happy place.
