YVONNE CHRISTIAN
Originally from Washington, DC, Yvonne has lived in Boston since the mid-1980s. She is a graduate of Emerson College, where she majored in communications. A life-long art-lover and art-maker, her colorful, vibrant works of abstract art in paint, magic marker, and art pastels reveal a unique voice. Her connection to the world of popular music is evident in her choice of artwork titles. She is also a photographer, a poet and the author of The Outside In View of Uncommon Bostonian: What an Autistic Black Woman Sees. She writes two blogs: Outside In and Uncommon Bostonian and you can visit her Instagram site for video podcasts on a variety of topics. She was diagnosed with Asperger's in 2002 and joined AANE that same year. She was a founding member of the AANE Artist Collaborative and regularly participates the planning meetings of the group. A number of her works are on view at the AANE Artist Collaborative Gallery in Watertown, MA. Her work has been showcased at Collaborative’s events, Art Fairs as well as in many local and regional professional art galleries.
